An oxymoron is a figure of speech whose words are seemingly contradictory. The word "oxymoron" takes its roots for the Greek words oxy meaning "sharp" and morons meaning "dull", so the word "oxymoron" is itself an oxymoron. The English language is rife with oxymoron’s and songwriters seem to have a fond relationship with them based on the amount you'll find hidden in popular music.
You could literally dig up thousands of songs that utilize an oxymoron in the song title or lyrics. For this playlist I sat down and asked myself, "if I could only own 10 oxymoron songs, what would they be?" Obviously, with a list like this I had to leave out a ton of worthy tracks, and I'll probably regret one that did not come to mind. But in the end I'm happy with the quality of the result and you'll find an oxymoron in every song title. If you could only pick 10, which would they be, or what oxymoron song can't you believe I left out?
